KOEI TECMO GAMES Co., Ltd. has just informed the public regarding the recent police report filed by the Kanagawa Prefectural Police to the Yokohama District Public Prosecutor's Office on 24 January 2023 regarding the copyright infringement against a 44 year-old individual who uses the materials (characters, logo, etc.) to sell as body pillow covers.
According to the aforementioned report, 22 body pillow covers were confirmed to include copyrighted materials straight from DEAD OR ALIVE 6, including pictures of various characters, like Marie Rose. In turn, these merchandise are being repurposed for sale online.
As of the report, the suspect has been sent to prosecution, and will await pending charges against the suspect. コーエーテクモゲームス株式会社は、2023年1月24日付で神奈川県警から横浜地検に提出された 神奈川県警から横浜地方検察庁に2023年1月24日付で提出された、 素材（キャラクター、ロゴ等）を使用した44歳の個人に対する著作権侵害に関する被害届についてお知らせいたします。この度、神奈川県警から横浜地検に 2023年1月24日付で提出された「44歳個人による著作権侵害に関する被害届」についてお知らせします。を使用し、ボディピローカバーとして販売している44歳の 個人に対する著作権侵害について、2023年1月24日付けで神奈川県警から横浜地検に通報がありました。
前述の報告によると、22枚のボディピローカバーに、マリー・ローズなど様々なキャラクターの写真など、『DEAD OR ALIVE 6』の版権物がそのまま含まれていることが 確認されました。また、これらのグッズはネット販売に再利用されています。
なお、報道された時点では、容疑者は送検されており、今後の容疑の確定を待ちます。コーエーテクモゲームスは、今後もこのような著作権侵害行為に対処し、 より良い品質のゲームをお客様に提供できるよう取り組んでまいります。なお、本報告書に関するPDFは以下のとおりです。
